How to grow enquiries by switching website platforms and investing in SEO
The challenge
Bernadette Pimenta Couture is an iconic Melbourne wedding dress designer. Having had a new website built by a friend on WordPress, they experienced a drop in organic traffic and were also unable to manage the website themselves, which was incredibly frustrating.
After a few months of engaging us, we decided the best course of action was to switch from WordPress to Squarespace. There is a common misconception that WordPress is best for SEO and that you can’t achieve good SEO results on Squarespace. We know that this isn’t true as we’ve had great results on Squarespace sites, and for many businesses, WordPress is just too expensive and unmanageable without an internal dev team.
The solution
Because the existing site didn’t have much value, we were able to start from scratch. We began with keyword research to uncover all the search terms being used to search for similar businesses. This led us to create separate wedding dress, evening dress and mother of the bride/groom pages to take advantage of the high search volumes for each topic.
We created a series of blogs to help support these new web pages and to help brides who visited the website with wedding planning and dress shopping.

Despite finishing our retainer in July 2023, the site has continued to grow in keyword rankings and organic traffic. This is what we aim for - laying the foundations for growth even after we’ve finished working together.
The number of form submissions by interested brides has continued to increase as has the emails and calls to book appointments.
